Why Strange Libations?

Prior to starting this website, my experience in homebrewing was limited to one 5 gallon batch of Solsun (Oberon Clone).  It turned out very well but I didn't try another batch until over 2 years later.  Strangely, I got back into this area thanks to the 28 day Metabolism diet.  How?  Well, I didn't realize until I was knee deep in meads, wines and spirits that I had replaced my food desires with alcohol recipes.  If I wasn't going out to eat or thinking about that next fattening meal that I was going to make then I would spend that time making \ enhancing (hopefully) booze.  Even better, on the 28 day diet, I couldn't drink any alcohol.  So here I am - making strange libations.  If you read my blog on this site, you can follow my plunge into the depths of this obsession.

Strange Libations is a reference to the 1983 movie The Adventures of Bob & Doug McKenzie: Strange Brew.  While this movie will never be mistaken, it will always be one of my favorite comedys of all time.  Growing up in Seattle and the going to college very close to the Canadian border (which included a few road trips to the Great White North),  I have always enjoyed the crazy canuck banter.   To find out more about my story and this website, go to My Story and read my blog.
